How to Join

1. Receiving Instructions:

   • Once signed up your tutor will send you joining instructions by email before each session.

2. Device Compatibility:

   • You can join your session from a modern internet browser on your PC, Mac, Linux, or download the app onto your computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

3. Internet Connection:

   • Zoom works best on Wi-Fi, although it is possible to take part using a 4G or 5G mobile phone connection.

4. Joining the Session:

   • Click on the link received from us on the stated date and time. You will enter a waiting room to be admitted by your tutor. This allows us to screen who accesses the course.
   • Before joining, you will be asked to enter your name. This will be shared with your tutor and other attendees. Please ensure accuracy but avoid using personal email addresses or any sensitive information. Your first name and the initial of your surname will suffice.

How to Access Zoom

1. Inform Your Tutor:

   • Let your tutor know whether you are using a tablet or laptop. Ensure you have the necessary equipment and a suitable workspace before your online lesson.

2. Downloading the App:

   • Download the Zoom Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile Phone App for free. Note that you do not need to sign up for an account to join the sessions. The app will function without signing in.

3. Receiving the Link:

   • Do not worry if you receive the link on the day of your class. As long as we have your current email address, you will be sent a link.

4. Device-Specific Instructions:

   • Tablet/Mobile Phone Devices:

     • Install the Zoom Cloud Meetings app via the App Store for Apple devices or the Play Store for Android devices.
     • Skip adding a payment option when prompted; Zoom is free to download.
     • Your tutor will email you the session link and a password to enter the session.
     • Click the Zoom Meeting link and select the Zoom App or Google Chrome to enter the Zoom room.
     • You may be prompted to connect your video and audio.
     • You will be in a waiting room ready for your tutor to start the session.

1. • Laptops/Desktop Devices:

     • Access your Zoom session via the Google Chrome web browser or by downloading the Zoom desktop app.
     • Your tutor will email you an invite to the session.
     • Click the link in the email or copy and paste it into Google Chrome or Edge (please avoid using Internet Explorer).
     • Click “Open Zoom” when prompted.
     • A waiting room message will pop up: “Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon.”
     • You will have the option to test your audio.
     • Start your video by clicking on the video icon.
