The CITB Health and Safety Awareness course, delivered through the Site Safety Plus scheme, is a comprehensive one-day accredited course designed for people who are entering or already working in the construction and civil engineering industry.
Why Book This Course
This course provides an essential foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry site card and serves as the health and safety qualification requirement for the CSCS Labourer Card (Green Card).
Gain recognised health and safety knowledge and take a step towards working safely on site.
Support workforce compliance and help reduce the risk of accidents, delays and unsafe working practices.
Book training that is structured, recognised and suitable for new starters or site based teams.
Build a stronger safety culture and help delegates understand how their actions affect others on site.
This course is designed to aid the understanding of potential hazards the construction worker may face on site. It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies the delegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties and explains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness qualification is recognised by most major construction companies within the UK and acts as an alternative route to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. It is the preferred qualification by many employers and is often a prerequisite for site access on large construction projects.
Gaining this CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) qualification counts as one step towards the two-step process of gaining your CSCS Labourer card. The CSCS Labourer card, often called the “green card”, is an entry-level card in the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
Upon successful completion of the course and examination, delegates will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate, valid for five years.
